About this course.

Sexual harassment at work is unlawful, harmful and far more common than many people realise — and since October 2024 employers in Great Britain have a new legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent it. This course explains what sexual harassment is and the many forms it can take, from obvious misconduct to subtler behaviour and ‘banter’, and why it is never acceptable. It sets out how it affects individuals, teams and organisations, and why everyone shares responsibility for stopping it.

It then looks at the environments and situations where harassment happens (including online, off-site and third-party harassment), the legal framework under the Equality Act 2010 and the new preventative duty, and the policies and procedures that protect people. Finally it covers how to report and respond to harassment, how to support those affected, and how to build a positive, respectful workplace culture where it does not take hold. It is an awareness-level course suitable for all staff and managers.
