It then works through the main site safety hazards — such as working at height, moving vehicles and plant, excavations, and being struck by objects — and the health hazards that cause harm more slowly, including dust and silica, asbestos, noise, vibration and manual handling. It sets out the practical controls and safe behaviours that keep people safe, and the shared responsibilities of everyone on site. It is an awareness-level course; task-specific and plant-specific work still requires proper training and, where needed, recognised competence.
